RECOVERY
In June, a group of workers caused a fire at a
construction site, when a spark lighted the dry grass. The fire quickly spread
over southeast Attica and destroyed large parts of the forest
and several houses. Luckily, there were no civilian casualties.
The pictures below are taken in Bertseko, an
archaeological important valley in the centre of the Laurion area (Attica,
Greece). They give an image of the devastating power of the fires but also of
how fast nature/life is able to recover from such an event. Let this be a
metaphor: when you are in dire straits, realize that whether you want it or
not, life inevitably goes on … in a new and who knows even better form than before.
